Sometimes I just need a reminder... Keep Calm and Enjoy the Journey!

I have been a little MIA on the blog lately.  With summer coming to an end I have been feverishly running around, spending time with my kiddos and getting ready for school. I also was just called to be the Young Women's President in my ward.  (Exciting and time consuming!) I feel like my life is out of control. As I try to piece my busy life back together and get back into a daily routine I remembered a talk given by LDS church President Thomas S. Monson his talk was entitled Finding Joy in the Journey.
President Monson states
 "Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family
I loved reading these words.  They are a great reminder to what is really important. Someone once stated that we only have 18 summers with our children.  We should make the most of it! I decided to make this fun printable to remind me to take life one day at a time and enjoy the journey. Whether you are a busy mom like me, a college student, an empty nester or just plain old busy you can enjoy this fun printable.
I made 2 printable's one with a mother and child silhouette and one with a bicycle.

LDS Young Women- August 2013 Lesson Handouts

As a new Young Women's President I found myself looking through the new LDS Youth curriculum and wanted each lesson to have a handout.  I loved getting handouts on Sunday and kept each one.  I still have a few of my favorites.  I think having that little handout is a reminder throughout the week of how we can hold to our teaching and promises. I have tried to make a free printable for each lesson or have a link to someone who did one.  If you have a free printable for the new curriculum I would love to add it to my post.  Please send me an email (cosettescloset{at}gmail.com) with your link!

For the Lesson  Why is Family Important?

Why is a Temple Marriage Important?

For the lesson why is Chastity Important?
I used a quote from Elaine  Dalton's talk "Return to Virtue".

Back to School Blast! Shopping List {Free Printable} + Giveaway

Getting your family prepared to head back to school, can be difficult especially after a long, fun-filled summer. Here are a few of our favorite Back to School Tips to help you along the way.
1. Back-to-School Supplies Checklist - Backpack? Check. Pencils? Check. Safety scissors? Not Yet. Use the same checklist each time you head out to grab supplies, to keep track of what you have already purchased and the things you still need to. These are also handy if you have more than one child. Simply print 2, 3, 4 list and add their name to the top.

I know its a little early to be thinking back to school.  But I wanted to get this one up and going for all of you. Back to School Shopping is just around the corner. With 4 kids and a busy schedule I can never remember what I have or need for my kids.
 I have boys who really don't like shopping and they don't really care what clothes they wear. (I am lucky we haven't hit that stage yet.) So I find that I do a lot of their shopping for school clothes when I am just out and about.  I usually check out the sale racks each time I go shopping. The same for my daughter.  The only problem, I have 4 kids and I can never remember sizes. Especially for shoes! The little buggers keep growing!
If your kids are like mine they are growing like weeds! I feel like I am always on the look out for a bigger size in clothing.   So I search the internet for clothing suggestions for kids. I found  this great article on wiki how.  It gave some guidelines and suggestions for how many of each item to buy.  For me some were over exaggerated.  (My kids don't need 15 t-shirts) So to help keep track of what I have bought, and what we need,  I put together these fun colorful printable's to help you keep track of what you have and what you need to buy. I have included a separate list for boys and girls. Pick the color you like and print.  Be sure to follow the rules of my free printable usage!

Time Out for Women {Idaho Falls}

I love myself a great Girls Weekend.  Usually its filled with great food, girl talk and no kids.  This weekend was a little like this but so much more.  For those of you who don't know I am a Mormon.  I blog like all the rest of my crazy, crafty, blogger friends. And I am Mormon.  I love my faith and practices its teachings.  One of the great things about where I live and is there is a large populations of LDS members here.  Because of the large population we have opportunities to attend church related  engagements.  One such engagement is Time Out For Women (TOFW). Time Out for Women is a weekend gathering of women to listen and be uplifted through speakers, music and service.
So I teamed up with these amazing friends and attended TOFW. It was an awesome experience.

Here is what I needed to hear!!

Girls Inspiration Collage Wall + Free Printable

I have been working on a little something for my daughter. Growing up is tough.  I want her to have strong role models that lift her up and make her feel good about herself, to always look for the good, have courage, know that beauty is not everything and when hard times come, to know that she can do it.
  I love collage walls. So I decided to combine my collage wall with a few inspirational quotes. The collage wall will serve as daily reminder of what she is capable of.

Mom's Away Free printable for Dad's & Caregivers

Do you remember the old adage "When Mom's away the mice will play??"  Well my little mice will play and maybe starve a little if I don't leave some guidance behind. Coming up super quick my husband will be home with all 4 kids by... his... self. My Husband tries but he is no mom.  Staying home with 4 kids, being on call 24/7, cooking, cleaning and being mom for a long weekend is not really his wheelhouse.  That is my department for good reason.  But every once in a blue moon I get a girls weekend.  Don't we all deserve a weekend with just the girls??  Well my weekend is coming up quick.  For Christmas this year I received a ticket to Snap! a blogging conference. And with this fabulous gift my husband is taking 2 days off work to allow me to go. Now let me emphasize how BIG of a deal this is.  My husband does not take work of for me to go have fun. This is Ginormous.  That is why him taking 2 days off was my only Christmas present.  My ticket was a combined effort on my part.
So with that being said, I want to make sure my kiddos are taken care of, as though I was right there. And everything will go smoothly for him.  So maybe in the future I can attend other conferences (ahem...Breathing Spaces) and Girls Weekends. So I came up with a quick free printable for my husband.  Just a little something to help him through his day. And to make sure my kids get to school, take naps, get medicine and go to sports on time. These are great to for babysitters or caregivers.  Just fill them out and leave with your kiddos and the person in charge.

Secret Easter Bunny + Free Printable

Recently a few of my friends and I started talking about Family Easter Traditions.  Most of my family's are just the normal ones, Easter Baskets, Egg hunt, Nice Dinner.  I have been wanting to start some new ones.  I want my kids to associate certain holidays with their beliefs.   So I came up with the Secret Easter Bunny. Similar to a Secret Santa but an egg hunt of sorts. My kids can pick out some treats and dollar store toys and find joy in serving and helping others. Christmas only comes once a year, but many families need help year round. Or do it to surprise a family you know and love.

Let's "Stick" together Valentine {Free Printable}

Let's Stick together Valentine

I found a large package of boxed stickers at the dollar store. My little girls loves stickers.  She sticks them wherever she can.  I thought they would make a great valentine for a preschool or kindergarten class. I made a cute printable to print and stick to the front of the box.  Or print and attach to glow sticks, pixie sticks, gum or those little sticky hands that kids love to get in the 25 cent machine.(I think they sell the sticky hands in bulk at a party store like Zurchers or Party city.)

Buddy The Elf!!

I find as I get older, the idea of Christmas is Nostalgic to me.  I yearn for a Vintage Christmas.  Lots of Snow, Real Christmas Trees, handmade Ornaments. You know the kind we had when we were kids.  I loved watching Christmas movie, seeing Santa and driving around to see Christmas lights.  So this year I am trying to make a less commercial and more down home Christmas.  I love sharing old movies and music with my kids.  One of my favorite movies is Buddy the Elf.  I realize its not super old but its older than my kids.  So to them its Vintage. Buddy  makes me Smile!

Today I am sharing my favorite quote from the movie!  Enjoy! Just Right Click on the image you want and save to your computer.
