Only time will tell...Valentine Printable

I found these cute candy watches the other day at the dollar store.  I loved these as a kid and begged my mom to buy me one at the store.  Do you remember them?? Candy necklaces, lipstick and bracelets. They were the best.  Well my little miss saw them and wanted them to.  And for only a buck who can say no?  So I came up with this sweet, easy valentine for her to help make. I used one of my favorite things... Washi Tape!

Washi Tape Ornaments

I love Washi Tape!!  I love to make projects with Washi Tape.  It is inexpensive and really packs a punch!  this season I decided to make a Washi tape Ornaments.

What you need:
Washi Tape (Michaels has great new festive tapes this season.  Just ab out any Christmas color you can think of, even gold and silver)
Foam core ( I get mine at the dollar store)
Exact-o Knife
Modge Podge
Frame
Ribbon
Opt: Vinyl saying

I first took an old frame I had and covered the glass with white paper. Missed this picture but you can just imagine it.

Next I found some ornament shapes on the Internet and printed them.  I flipped them wrong side up and covered the paper with washi tape.  Then cut them out.

Take some modge podge and glue the ornaments to a piece of foam core.  I got mine at the dollar store. Let the glue dry. Putting them on the foam core makes the jump off the page.  Not so flat.

Once the glue is dry use an Exact-o knife and cut around the edge of the ornaments. To give my ornaments a little sparkle and texture I used glitter glue pens to dot the polka dots, and lines on the washi tape. It is hard to see in the pictures but in person they look great.

Once your ornaments are cut out, place them on your frame.  I played a little with the placement until I liked it.

Add some ribbons for strings and bows with glue dots.

Once I got this far I thought I would be happy but I decided to add the Phrase Merry & Bright to my frame.  I think it finished it off perfect!!! I just love how it turned out.

Patriotic Pinwheels {Washi} style

I have been racking my brain at what I wanted to do for my 4th of July Mantel.  I have had a few things in mind but it needed some finishing touches. I was blog hoping the other day and found 52 Mantels.  I saw Emily's all paper mantel and loved her flowers on the wall.  It totally gave me the idea why not use pinwheels. So I started looking for paper.  When I couldn't find what I wanted I thought "I have all this washi tape.  What if I ..." and there it was. Just what I needed to finish my Mantel.  Washi Tape Pinwheels. So here you go.

Washi Tape Frame

While searching the thrift store I cam across this terrible looking frame that was screaming for a make over.

Pretty Ugly huh?  I took the art work out and went to work.
A fresh coat of white paint.   It took about 4 coats. Then I added a little Washi love to the inside of the frame.  The washi tape was the perfect width to match the inside frame.

I was initially going to use this frame in my craft room until I remembered I had this great printable I made last summer.  I printed it out and the colors were perfect for each other.  So now it is my new frame for my summer mantel. Here is the link to the Summertime printable.

Meredith from Haute to Sew picked my blog to receive the Liebster Award.  I am so honored.   I had not heard of the Liebster Award until then.  So here is a little background.

Liebster Award

Liebster is German for ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’-- but it can also mean ‘favorite’. The Liebster award was created to give some attention to those blogs with less than 200 followers.

So when I found out that I won the Liebster Award from Meredith I was super excited. You should check out her blog.  Its super cute and filled with lots of tips and tricks and projects.  Defiantly in my blog reader.
In accepting the award, you are supposed to follow these rules:

3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers.
5. Finally and the best rule of all………have fun and spread the love!

And now here are my 5 faves that follow the guidelines for the award so you can check these lovelies out in no particular order:

3. Michelle- Jones Party of 5
4.  Those Crafty Sisters
5. Kendal1- Every Day Giggles

And to celebrate my Liebster award and reaching 100 followers I would love to do a giveaway. So here's how it goes.

Washi Tape Coupon holder

I have been thinking about another Washi Project.  I found these Coupon file envelope thingy's at Michael's along with some more Washi tape.So here it is!

Supplies:
Washi Tape
Accordion folder
I found these in the $1 section at Michaels
optional:  sticker letters or vinyl

Here is the Washi Tape I found at Michaels.
The Brand is Recollections and they call it Crafting Tape.
My other Washi Tape is from Target and Mindy Maes Market.

I just cut the tape into strips and layered it on the folders.
It took me about 5 minutes.

Next I used my Silhouette and cut letters out to spell Receipt and Coupons. I layered them over the Washi Tape.

A great little folder for my coupons and receipts.
A little Pizazz in my Purse.
