Super Hero Youth Leadership Training

As a member of the LDS church and Young Women president, I am trying very hard to cultivate leadership in our girls.  We want our girls to see the strengths in themselves and others. In an effort to do this we planned an amazing leadership training. A night filled with super speakers and power treats!

I started with this fun invitation. We kept the subject of our activity secret.  Calling it super hero training.  What girl wants to go to leadership training??? For a couple of weeks prior we had leader come to class in a cape and mask, announcing the activity. The girls got a real kick out of it.

We had our 4 speakers send us an outline of there main points.  We printed them and placed them inside there superhero folder. I made this easy printable to put on the front of there folder. We decide to have them printed on colored paper.

Our 4 topics we decided to have discussed were:

Addressing your Fans- The do's and don'ts of public speaking. Specifically in a church setting.
What's in your utility belt?- Everything you need to plan and execute the perfect activity
Traits of a Superhero- What makes a super hero a great example for others
Sidekicks and Alliances- How to plan and execute a lesson. Keeping others engaged while teaching but also being prepared and teachable.

At the end of our night each girl received a Super hero certificate and mask.

And last but not least we polished of the night with Super green smoothies and power bars!

Power bar printable I used these to wrap around a granola bar.
We had an amazing night.  The speakers were wonderful and the girls had a fun night.  I know that this night held something for each girl to learn.  a few of them have already talk to parents about the topscs and tried to use them in there lessons, talks and activities.
