I have been desperately looking for a new dresser. I found an old dresser at a local thrift store. It was in decent condition so I took it for under $90. Not to bad for an old solid dresser. The dresser had good structure but the vintage 70's stain was much to be desired. So I pulled out the old sander and went to town.

MIlitary jacket to vest, How to
A few weeks ago I went on a thrifting trip with a few friends. I totally need fashion help so I was lucky to be thrifting with Ashley from Flats to Flip Flops and Meg from Brassy Apple. (check out there blogs...Amazeballs!)
I have been on the hunt for a military styled vest. But have found nothing. Finally while out shopping I found this Military jacket for just $4. Yipee! I was so excited!

How to cover a pillow with a Dishtowel DIY
I love finding simple everyday things and turning them into something amazing. Today I am going to share how to make a pillow cover with a Dishtowel. This project was super easy ,cheap inexpensive and makes an adorable throw pillow for a bed or chair. Making the pillow took me about 30 minutes, with minimal sewing. Not to mention it cost me less than $5.

Reusable Pumpkin and other characters
Today's post is one I did for Eighteen 25 and there Spooktacular September. Enjoy!
Do you ever buy those huge containers of food at Sam's Club or Costco? Your kids eat the entire container and then you think, can use this for something or is it going to take up all the space in my garbage can. Well today you can say I have a project for that big old container. Today I am going to show you how to reuse those empty containers into fun decor!
I started with an old cheese ball container. You know the ones they sell at Sam's club, that your kids just love. Yeah those ones!
Let your kids eat those till they turn orange. Just think they could be Jack-o-lanterns for Halloween! Or you could use them as a treat for school or a party.
Clean out your container and remove the label from the front. If you get the label wet with hot water they will usually peel right off. Make sure all the glue is off the container. If not you could use a little adhesive remover (goof off) to get it off.
Next paint your container. I used Valspar copper colored paint for the container and green paint for the lid. Give it a good coat. Let dry. Add one more coat. Let dry.
While the paint is drying get your vinyl. You can buy vinyl for lots of places. Joanns and Michaels carry a few colors. I purchase mine at Vinyl Expressions. The price is great and there shipping is lighting fast. Use the template here or create your own. Draw your face onto the back of your vinyl. Cut, Peel and stick.
You can add leaves or ribbon to the lid. Then use them to decorate your porch, tables or to put your Trick or Treat candy in.
Here are a few others I have made from different sized container.
*The pumpkin in the left corner is made with Chocolate covered raisin container from Costco, vinyl, fabric and ribbon.
*Frank is made from a animal crackers container from Sam's Club, vinyl and the biggest bolts I could find. I also used my Silhouette Cameo to cut his vinyl face. But you could easily free hand it.
This is a fun creative project that your kids can help with. You can use any old containers. Experiment with textures and just have fun.

Womens Tank to Little Girl Maxi
I cut off the bottom of the tank just below the arm pit. Leaving the most length possible.
Stitch a basting stitch around the top of the skirt. You may need to gather the skirt a bit before sewing on the waist band.
For the waistband I had a piece of knit that was a perfect match . I measured my Little Missy's waist and subtracted 1 inch. Knit is really stretchy. I cut my fabric 19 by 6. Fold your waistband in half lengthwise and right sides together. Short ends together. Stitch. You should have a circle for a waistband.
Fold the band in half to make it 3 x 18 round. Pin the band to your skirt. Giving the skirt and even gather if your must gather. Stitch around with a knit stitch. securing the waistband to the skirt.
Here is how my skirt turned out.
I think it turned out so cute. She loves it! I think it makes her look so grown up. Fun and easy for the summer. Great for the beach, church or a day of shopping. Head out and find a tank for your Little Miss.

Recycled Bike Basket DIY
I cut the top of the orange juice container. Just below the handle.
(In hind sight I would have punched 2 holes along 1 long side of the container. I did mine later and it was hard to get the holes cut)
Take your fabric and measure it around the container and measure the height.
Begin by painting a layer of modge podge onto your container. Start wrapping your fabric around the outside of the container.
Glue the edge of the fabric down. Paint a layer of modge podge onto your fabric. Give it a really good coat.
Fold the top fabric down to the inside. Glue it down.
Let is dry for a while. You may want to do a second coat.
Now for the bottom. I place a lot of glue on the plastic and spread it around.
Then start and fold it like the end of a package. Fold 2 sides and press down to stick to the glue.
Lay more glue down and fold your last two sides down. Cover in modge podge. Let dry
At this point I punched my holes. I wish I had done it before covering in fabric. Measure your bike handle bars for hole placement. I also stapled around the top to secure the fabric to the plastic. I used pom fringe to hide the staples. This would go great for a little boy and make it a super hero basket or cowboy or space man. Whatever your little boy is into. Fun for everyone!
To hide any graphics from the container I glammed it up. Pom fringe and some flower cut outs. Red ribbons to tie it onto the bike and your finished.
