Tyson Family Meal Night {Cheese Steak Crescents}

Having dinner around the table is important to our family. We eat dinner together at least 5 nights a week. But some nights I am just not in the mood to make anything. I try really hard to keep a menu and plan ahead, but some nights I just don't have it in me. So I checked out Tyson's refrigerated meal products and recipes online. There are so many to choose from. After searching for a bit I came up with this simple and delicious recipe. It came together in minutes and my family loved it! Cheese Steak Crescent Rolls!

Neighborhood Bunny Hop + Printable

Today's original post was an epic fail.  Ever have those??  Well today's was a big one.  So instead I am re sharing my Neighborhood Bunny Hop.  I love holiday ideas that can involve the whole family. With spring just around the corner, it's time to get out and see your neighbors again   Here in Idaho its been a long hard winter.  I think we have gone a little crazy cooped up in the house. If your kids are like mine they will love to make and deliver a secret treat to a neighbor. Not to mention this is a fun family activity. I love seeing how many homes participate in this fun neighborhood pass around. This one is super easy, just make a copy of the printable below. Pair with a treat and deliver.

Secret Easter Bunny + Free Printable

Recently a few of my friends and I started talking about Family Easter Traditions.  Most of my family's are just the normal ones, Easter Baskets, Egg hunt, Nice Dinner.  I have been wanting to start some new ones.  I want my kids to associate certain holidays with their beliefs.   So I came up with the Secret Easter Bunny. Similar to a Secret Santa but an egg hunt of sorts. My kids can pick out some treats and dollar store toys and find joy in serving and helping others. Christmas only comes once a year, but many families need help year round. Or do it to surprise a family you know and love.

Tis the season for peppermint brownies!  I love these little things.  Saturday was my free day from my 8 week healthy challenge.  I just had to make them. So I decided to share my recipe with all of you.  These are just like the Starbucks peppermint brownies. So yummy!  Warning you will need to find someone to share these with or you will eat them all.  Also I recommend a tall glass of milk!

BBQ Brisket (Recipe)

It's Brisket season.  My family loves Brisket.  It is one of those meals we have every so often. More, when I can find it on sale. For St. Patty's day we usually have corned beef brisket & cabbage just for a change.  But when we have brisket any other time we use this recipe.  It is delicious. I love that I can prepare it the night before and put it in my crock pot first thing in the morning.  It cooks all day and makes your home smell great. It is fall off the bone good! Serve with Garlic mashed potatoes and Grilled asparagus.  Yum!

Burlap & Tulips...Springtime Decor

I just love springtime! I love the colors, holidays and the thought of summer just around the corner.  Here in Idaho it is still cold. Snow on the ground and more snow is coming. It's just that time of year.  A little gloomy, muddy and grey skies. I need a little spring time decor. What better way to do that than to add some colorful flowers to my front door for under $10!

Let's talk toilet paper holder covers...

 So tell me if this is you. You go to the bathroom for a self imposed time out.  You should have been put in time out and hour ago,  but alas the kids wouldn't allow it.  You finally get your time out and you realize part way through you are out of toilet paper. Sound familiar??? Then you have to all to one of your kids...to interrupt you time out to bring you some toilet paper. Well your quiet time out is over..
This is a weekly problem at my house.  My Master Bath is about the only place I get a little quiet during the day.  Maybe 5 minutes a few times a day.
So one day I was perusing my local Ross and found this... A toilet paper holder tower.

Modge Podge Photo Transfer {Vintage Sign}

I am so excited to share this new product to you today. I recently had the opportunity to try the new
Modge Podge Photo transfer.  After watching a video on the product, I was instantly in love. This stuff can turn any fabric, metal, glass or wood into a craft dream,  transfer any photo copied picture into a beautiful art piece.  After debating ideas in my head I decided on a sign.  I needed a great photo and spot to place it.  It's a good thing I have bloggy friends who love creative things in their homes.  Andie from MaybeIwill.com had the perfect spot for me.  Her little boys room was in need of a funky Vintage piece of art.  Here is what I came up with.

Command Center {Chore Cards}

While building my command center I thought "What is a command center with out chore cards for the kiddos?"  They were very simple to make and my kids like to use them.  It takes the guess work out of what is expected when doing chores.

5 week meal rotation calendar

Ever ask yourself what should I make for dinner??? I do, and it galls me. To understand my frustration let me start by admitting I am not a Type A personality. My craft room has half-finished projects scattered all over it, my house is not spotless or ordered, my children don’t do their chores or homework without constant prodding, and my husband sometimes comes home to a pile of unfolded laundry on the bed and front room full of toys.

I am, paradoxically, a prepper. Emergency preparedness and food storage are right in my wheel house. I get a great deal of satisfaction in seeing my storage shelves fill with food and having enough water to fill a small pool should the need arise.

Because of my love of preparedness and my complete disdain for coming up with a daily menu, I developed what I have named my 5 Week Meal Rotation and made it part of my Command Center {here}.

Command Center {My Style}

After a few crazy  unorganized months (not all bloggers are super organized), I decided it was time to jump on the command center bandwagon.  My schedule seems to have spun out of control. Sick kids, Holidays, sports and school activities.  So many things a mom must do to keep a happy family.  I have an amazing mudroom in my home.  iron board, floor to ceiling lockers for the kids, wash basin and 1/2 bath. I didn't have a lot of wall space to work with and there are so many cool command centers out there.  This one seems to work best for me.

Breakfast Smoothie

The past few weeks I have been participating in a Get Healthy 8 week challenge. I have teamed up with 15 other ladies. We have pledged to get healthy.  For more information to start your own group click here.
In starting the challenge I was worried about meeting all the requirements.  My number one worry was consuming enough fruits and vegetables.  I have terrible allergies to raw fruits and vegetables.  This makes meeting the requirements difficult.  So today I am sharing one way to get a serving of fruits and veggies in before lunch time.

Mini Anthropologie knock off skirt

 Anthropologie had this beautiful lace skirt at Christmas time.  But not in my budget and they didn't make them for little girls. I though my little miss needed one too.

Skirt Extender DIY

I love skirts. But as I get older it seems that skirts are getting shorter or I am getting taller.  I have a general rule that my skirts go to the knee.  Skirts that length that are modest can be hard to find. So when I saw a modest slip extender at a local boutique I just had to have one.  But at $30 a piece I decide I would have to wait.  So I went to my local Joanns.  They had a great selection of Lycra stretch fabric in lots of colors.  Here is what I bought:
